POSCA have teamed up with the talented Kawaii artist Miss Wah to create a number of ‘how to use’ POSCA tutorials, which will be shared with fans via YouTube.

The first of these online workshops showcases the bold bright colours of POSCA and demonstrates how easy it is to overlay the paints to create crisp, bold lines; perfect for Kawaii art.

The search is on for an imaginative new background for the official UK POSCA twitter site dedicated to POSCA markers.

Send us a design encapsulating what POSCA means to you for your chance ti win a POSCA set worth £50 and the honour of being featured on the site which has over 500 followers.

Entries should be created using POSCA and the winning design will take pride of place on the page for the duration of the year.

To enter the competition, please send images to posca@connect-group.com along with your name, twitter name and contact telephone number. All entries received will be uploaded to a special album on the uni-ball FlickR site (www.flickr.com/photos/uniball_uk).

Terms and Conditions:
1. There is a limit of one entry per person.
2. A panel of judges will select one winning entry. In making the final choice the judges will take into account creativity/artistic merit as well as the relevance of the content to the POSCA theme. The decision of the judging panel will be final.
3. The individual prixe-winner will receive a £50 POSCA set (retail value).
4. By participating in the competition entrants are agreeing to the subsequent use of their artwork for display and promotional purposes by the Commission without restriction.

A group of young artists transfomred an empty retail space in Manchester city centre from a blank canvas into a celebration of Europe thanks to a masterclass from a leading UK street artist and Posca.

Pupils from St Ambrose Barlow High School in Swinton worked alongside vinyl designer Matt Jones to illustrate and create a window mural which brought to life to the vacant unit at ‘Piccadilly Place’

During the workshop Matt assisted the year ten students through the design process from start to finish. Matt helped them to develop their separate ideas into one coherent mural piece. Using vibrant uni POSCA marker pens the pupils then transferred what they believe represents’ European culture’ onto the glass frontage for all to see.

The workshop wad run in conjunction with Eurocultured Street Festival Manchester a festival sponsored by Posca which celebrates the diversity of European culture and showcases the best live art, dance, performance and music that our continent has to offer. Birmingham Children’s hospital’s appeal to raise £2 million to create most advanced heart unit in the UK has kicked off in style with a week-long Family Art Festival at the Bullring starting April 12.
The creation of a number of giant, heart-themed canvases curated by a different renowned cartoonist each day began on Monday with Jon Burgerman.
Artists will create outline drawings, then visitors to the Festival will be asked to colour them ‘by numbers’ to create artworks that will subsequently brighten up the corridors of Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Other featured artists who will be taking part include the celebrated cartoonists and illustrators Serge Seidlitz and Celyn.
